It’s no secret that I love to share the magic of Numerology with anyone who will listen to me! But here’s the thing! There is a right way to calculate your life path number and a wrong way to do it!
Pythagorus was a Greek philosopher who discovered the science behind Numerology shortly after 600 BC. I tend to follow his teachings because who am I to challenge the creator?!
Many Numerologists suggest that all you need to do to determine your life path number is to add up all of the numbers in your date of birth
and then reduce them to a single digit. WRONG!
So let’s watch what happens when we do this.
Let’s take March 25th, 1959 as an example. I can relate very well to this date of birth because it’s mine!
If we add all of the numbers in my date of birth it will look like this. 3+2+5+1+9+5+9 = 34 3+4 =7 Done this way my Life Path Number is a 34/7.
If we add the numbers in the fashion that Pythagorus taught us it would look like this. March (3) + (2+5=7) + (1+9+5+9=24) 2+4=6 Now add 3+7+6= 16/7
It’s very important that you add each component of your date of birth us separately and then add them together. Then you can reduce them to a single digit.
TIP: When calculating your life path number, never reduce the number 11 or 22. These are master numbers and don’t get reduced. So if you were born in November you would
leave it as the 11. If you were born on the 22nd day you would leave it as the 22nd. If the year you were born in added to 11 or 22 you once again would not reduce it. Leave it whole.
So by now you’re likely asking “What’s the difference Ann? You’re still a 7!” Yes I am still a 7 but I’m definitely not a 34/7! I’m a 16/7 which holds a big ‘ole karmic debt attached to it!
By adding my date of birth straight across it creates a life path number which doesn’t apply to me. The numbers to the left of the slash indicate big lessons we need to learn in this lifetime.
34/7 breaks down like this.
The “3” vibration says that this person needs to learn how to express themselves. The “4” says they need to learn how to focus and to learn about process….one foot in front of the other. The “7” life path number is the spiritual teacher. So I’ll give you that I am indeed the spiritual teacher but I sure don’t have trouble expressing myself nor do I have issues around process and hard work.
Now let’s look at the 16/7. The “1” vibration says I need to work on my confidence in my creative self. The “6” vibration says I have lessons to learn about feeling overly responsible to everyone else, especially relating to my family. This is totally me! But more than that we can’t ignore that this life path number of the 16/7 holds a karmic debt. I’ll save the details of that for another post!
So let’s look at another issue when calculating a life path number incorrectly.
Let’s take March 12th, 1940
Done incorrectly it looks like this 3+1+2+1+9+4+0=20/2
Done correctly it looks like this March (3) + (12th day = 3) + (1+9+4+0=14 1+4=5) 3+3+5 = 11/2
A 20/2 Life Path Number is a far cry from an 11/2! 11’s vibrate at an extremely high vibration unlike any other life path number. The 11 holds a master number quality and is only given to those who have incarnated many, many times. These are the very old souls who have signed a big soul’s contract. This contract says that they will deliver a really important message in this lifetime! For more information on the amazing master energy of 11 be sure to check out my video!
The 20/2 holds a similar vibration to the 11 but the only thing that is a common denominator here is the energy of the 2. Those numbers to the left of the slash tell us what kind of 2 you really are!
Every single number in your birth date holds a lesson. So it’s incredibly important that your life path number is added up correctly. Don’t miss the opportunity to recognize a karmic debt or the amazing energy of a master number!
