A few years ago I was sitting in my mother’s kitchen in Alliston, Ontario.
Mom had a lovely little kitchen nook that looks right over the grassy fair lanes of the Green Briar golf course. Her backyard was sheltered in trees but there in the opening of the trees was a family of Canada Geese snoozing in the morning sun on the grass.
I’ve had the pleasure of watching this family on several occasions over the years but this time I was visiting in the fall which is not my normal travel routine.
Green Briar has a wonderful river running through the golf course. Naturally the geese flock to this spot as it provides them with an abundance of fresh water and green grass and an excellent place to build their nests and raise their young.
Now here’s an interesting fact you likely didn’t know. Canada Geese poop one pound of poop everyday!!! Now when you consider that there are in excess of 100 geese down by the river, well, I think you’ll agree that’s a lot of poop! No more open toed sandals for me!
But getting back to the more attractive observations around the geese. Canada Geese are quite amazing creatures to observe. They have an internal clock within them that keeps perfect time year after year. The only time this clock is adjusted is when the seasons provide them with challenges. They intuitively know exactly what to do in their lives simply by being in tune with their internal clocks. I’m calling Sears to see if they can send me one of those clocks for Christmas!
The Canada Goose mates for life but takes his/her time in selecting just the right mate for them. They wait until they are 2-3 years old before securing a life time mate and they even take time to enjoy the honeymoon for a year or two before having any youngsters to chase around! I think this is quite impressive considering the fact that the life expectancy of a Canada Goose is 20 years! That’s a long time to be hooked up to a spouse who poops one pound of poop per day!
The incubation of the eggs is a wondrous event for the Canada Goose. Mom lays the usual 5 eggs in a timely manner. She’s not out there trying to prove anything! She paces herself and lays one egg each day giving her time to recover in between! THEN the real miracle happens when she asks her mate for a night out during this 28 day incubation period and he simply says “Go ahead dear. I’ll watch the kids. Go and have a great time!” Now how did that not make it to the list of 7 wonders of the world?!
Now here comes the most miraculous part of this whole thing. The babies are born pretty helpless yes…but within 3 months they are shedding their baby feathers in favor of adult feathers and they learn how to fly! See the Canada Goose is a pretty smart bird. Not only do they pick the perfect mates to spend their lives with, they also know how to equip their kids to being self sufficient so they can leave the nest within the first year! Now there’s a blue print I would like to get my hands on!
So getting back to watching these beautiful creatures on this warm fall morning in Alliston. No wonder they are so peaceful and relaxed! All of God’s creatures come with a perfect time piece within them. Geese just seem to know how to access the information more easily. Let’s review shall we?
- Geese poop one pound of poop every day so they best be careful who to choose for a lifetime spouse. (You’ll never forget this one will you?)
- The Canada Goose takes a few years to get to know their spouses before they jump into parenthood. Why rush a good thing?
- The female takes her time laying her eggs. She’s not in any hurry to disrupt her life! She takes time to establish some guidelines within the parental agreement and inserts a clause which reads “Thou shall always honor girls’ night out!”
- Baby Geese learn how to fly by the age of 3 months making them quite self sufficient for the big trip to Disney Land in the fall!
- Yearling Geese only stick around for one year so they can help raise their siblings and then they’re off to live a life of their own. Amen.
And all this is possible because they simply tune into their own internal wisdom observing the cycles and seasons in their lives! Wow! Makes me feel quite inferior! Maybe we can learn something from these incredible birds. Maybe we should all trade in our crazy lives and simply lie down in the warm grass on a golf course! Maybe we should throw caution to the wind and just relax knowing that everything will turn out fine if we’ll just tune into our own wisdom. What a concept!
One of my favorite observations in a Numerology Chart is that of the Epicycle. The epicycle is made up of 9 years. Each one of these years produces a theme around it and each one of us is somewhere within this cycle. You might be in a year of one which is filled with new beginnings where your partner may be in a year of 9 which is full of endings. The epicycle is as predictable as the seasons. Understanding where you are is the difference between swimming with the tides in your life and swimming against them.
Each one of us is feeling a shift right now. Every January the universe gives us a full cup of whatever personal year energy we are going to be influenced by that year. Every day a little bit of this energy spills out over us and influences our experience for the day. By the time we reach autumn the cup is nearly empty. This makes room for the next year’s energy to start coming in. We begin to feel this shift as we move closer to year end. So if you’ve been full of energy this year and you are now beginning to feel tired, it’s possible you are transitioning from a 1 year to a 2 year. It’s natural to feel tired in a 2 year because you are resting from the busy events of your 1 year. The epicycle ebbs and flows causing us to move into “go time” and retreat into your “time out chair.”
2017 will prove to be a very interesting Universal year for all of us. Although each one of us is more dramatically influenced by our “personal” year, the Universal year is a vibration that is common to all of us. It will be a year when each one of us will be feeling the initiative to start something new! Begin fresh! This year we will all be blessed with the amazing universal energy of new beginnings! In closing I am reminded of a song written several years ago which sums up everything quite nicely. I share this with you, courtesy of Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry from the band Alabama…
“I’m in A hurry to get things done
Oh I, rush & rush until life’s no fun
All I really gotta do is live & die
But, I’m in a hurry & don’t know why.”
Always remember that we too have our own internal time pieces filled with wisdom. Ask yourself “What am I running from?” “What do I have to prove in this lifetime?”“Who am I trying to impress?” The answers are not “deeply” buried within you. You don’t have to look too far for the answers. Your Numerology chart offers you clues as to the personal cycles you are in and let the wisdom from the geese speak to you!
Life is really quite simple. Stand tall, eyes up and straight ahead. Open your ears and your heart. Leave your open toed sandals at home. That’s it.
Be prepared for what 2017 holds in store for you. I’d love to share your life’s blueprint with you. January is my busiest month of the year as client’s book in to find out what’s in store for them that year. Have you booked your appointment yet?
